Baby goes to eleven
November 2, 2008 – 1:10 amWhat a fun night out. For the ridiculously low price of $8, I was able to see three Portland-based bands — Matt Sheehy, The Dimes, and Derby — at the Doug Fir Lounge.
I was already a fan of Matt’s after seeing him perform over the summer at the Doug Fir. I can safely say that Tigerphobia will be on my top 10 of 2008 list that I’ll post–eek!–next month. The Dimes did a really great version of John Lennon’s “Watching the Wheels” from their new EP. Alas, all the alcoholic beverages started to catch up with me, so I didn’t catch all of Derby’s set. After buying the new Dimes EP, I left the venue and headed home.
