Do what ya like
November 14, 2009 – 3:33 pmThe busy-ness of the past few weeks are catching up with me. I’ve yet to leave my bed for any significant amount of time save to feed Wilson breakfast and shuffle him outside for his morning potty break. I suppose he’s catching on to my feelings because he’s been content to hang out in his doggy bed snoozing and snoring.
Of course, my time in bed isn’t spent sleeping most of the time, which is why I opted to power up the computer and blog something. I promise, I will return to my regular writing schedule sometime soon. My inspiration has been lacking lately, or my brain just isn’t realizing that an idea I had is worthy of a blog entry.
In any event, an idea did pop into my head today and it’s on the continued struggle a lot of people have in making changes in their lives. Now, if you’ve been reading my blog for a while, you know that I have no problem changing a situation — with lots of thought put into my actions first because I am an Aquarius, after all.
But, for those who struggle with indecision, or for lack of a better term, feel the need to waffle constantly and drag us along for the ride, this message is for you.
Just fucking do it.
Now, I’ll add a qualifier to the above statement. If you’re thinking of harming yourself or others, seek professional help immediately or call someone to help you through a difficult time. My statement is not a recommendation to hurt yourself or others. It’s meant to be motivation to change your life for the better or to get out of what you perceive to be a bad situation.
With that said…really, it’s that simple. If there’s a situation in your life that is “twistin’ [your] melon, man,” sitting stationary isn’t bring change to you.
Will changing your situation make the next chapter easier? It depends on your outlook. If you feel there’s an ounce of regret that could surface, then maybe it’s not time, but if you’re like my dog and standing by the door ready to race out to pee as soon as I open it, then it’s time to shake things up.
